Patient Rights & Responsibilities

What you can expect from us, and what we ask of you in return.

Patients have the right to be treated with respect, dignity and consideration throughout the care process, subject to applicable law and clinical requirements.

3.2 Information About Care

Patients have the right to receive clear and understandable information about their healthcare, proposed services and relevant options, subject to clinical and legal considerations.

3.3 Informed Participation and Consent

Patients have the right, where applicable, to participate in decisions about their care and to provide informed consent before procedures or treatment, subject to applicable law and circumstances where consent requirements differ.

3.4 Privacy and Confidentiality

Patients have the right to privacy during care and confidentiality of their health information, subject to lawful disclosure requirements.

3.5 Information About Costs

Patients have the right to clear information about healthcare service costs and applicable financial obligations, subject to the terms of their insurance or other payment arrangements.

3.6 Medical Records

Patients may have rights to review or obtain information from their medical records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and verification requirements.

3.7 Healthcare Professional Information

Patients may request appropriate information about the healthcare professional responsible for their care, including relevant professional licensing information where applicable.

3.8 Complaints and Concerns

Patients have the right to raise concerns or complaints without inappropriate retaliation. The Medical Center will handle complaints through its applicable procedures.

3.9 Communication and Accessibility

Patients should receive information in a manner that reasonably supports understanding and communication, taking into account applicable language, accessibility and individual needs.

3.10 Patient Responsibilities

Patients are expected to provide accurate and relevant information, follow agreed care instructions, respect staff and other patients, maintain appropriate conduct, attend appointments responsibly, and comply with reasonable facility rules.

3.11 Safety

Patients should inform healthcare professionals of relevant medical information, allergies, medications and other information necessary for safe care.

3.12 Arabic and English

The Patient Rights & Responsibilities information should be made available in Arabic and English as required by applicable DHA standards. Additional languages may be provided based on patient needs.
