Skin is the organ everyone can see, which is why skin conditions carry a weight out of proportion to their size. It is also why so much of what gets sold for them is guesswork. Dermatology starts from the opposite end: identify the condition, then treat it.

Acne, pigmentation, persistent rashes, hair thinning, nail changes — most of these respond well once they are correctly named. Dubai’s climate and constant air conditioning complicate things in ways worth accounting for, and we do.

How long before I see a difference?

Most skin conditions improve over weeks rather than days. Your doctor will give you a realistic timeline at the consultation, and a follow-up point to judge it against.

Is this the same as the aesthetic department?

No, though they work closely together. Dermatology diagnoses and treats skin conditions medically. Aesthetic services handle cosmetic treatments, and always after a medical assessment.

Can I bring the products I am already using?

Please do — or photograph the labels. What you are already applying is genuinely useful information, including anything that made things worse.

Do you check moles?

Yes. Bring any mole or skin change you are unsure about to a consultation. If something needs further investigation, your doctor will arrange the referral.

Is dermatology covered by insurance?

Medical dermatology is often covered; cosmetic treatment usually is not. Send your insurance details to the front desk on WhatsApp and they will confirm before you visit.
